Hard Top & Soft Top Referb:
Installed an overhead pulley to store my Hardtop in the summer months, (got in my Hardtop rebuild parts like gaskets, and hardware), the rubber that was on it was literally disintegrating. Putting the rear window gasket on the rear glass tonight, and it was much easier to do than I thought it would be. I bought the top,
and it's color was white, so, going to paint it gloss black like the car.
Had to make my own: B-Pillar to Hardtop foam seals for the
hardtop. I made a "How To" document, if you need to make
them for your hardtop since you can no longer get them!

The instructions include where to get the "Stock" high density
foam cheap from Amazon! (see the Misc tab).
Here is my Hard Top painted with "Rattle Cans" of gloss black spray paint, it turned out OK looking to me. It will for sure do for now, until I finish the rest of the body work on the car and I am ready to repaint the entire car. The Head liner (black) was in good shape so I just left it alone.
After painting it, I saw a dent/crease in the middle top rear of the hardtop, the gloss black made it easy
to see....... grrrrr. So, I had to sand that area down, and put in body filler, sand some more, fill in the rivet
holes along the bottom below the rear glass (while doing the body filler thing).
Next is installing the Fur-Flex around (long piece) from bottom of door post around the front to the bottom of the other door post. Front Header seal installed, Window Seals mitered, installed and glued, Home made B-post Foam/seals installed, Rear Flur-Flex/Seal installed, and I added "Door Guard" edging along the bottom most edge to cut down on accidental rear deck paint scratching (I will be running a bead of clear silicone around the top of the door guard on the outside so water does not get trapped in it, and rust out my bottom edges). I still Have to cut/miter my Fur-Flex/Seals for the rear-side windows, and re-install the windows.
Made templates for the overall opening of the window plus the actual window hole (where the fur flex goes
Used the templates to cut the angles at the 3 corners, each fur flex leg is 1/2 the total angle of the corner
so, by cutting it like that, both furflex and rubber tube/seal will be equal length and line up correctly.
To put in the Window frame after the furflex was installed (used super glue at the furflex miters which
worked great! I had to shorten and grind the head of the rivet gun down to a much, much smaller size
to be able to get the rivet tool tip to sit flush to the rivet head especially at the top and bottom rivets.
The pics show also the rear window glass installed with a new rubber gasket. Plus what the car looks
like with the top on, and an overhead hoist to raise/lower/store my Top as a one man job.
The Soft Top (Hood), redo, was a cleaned and repainted Hood Frame, new dome bolts/nuts and nylon
washers/top-hats, the Top is Mohair (from Rimmer Brothers), also replaced the top Chrome windshield
Cap Piece with new hard top hole mounting plugs.
